A discreet process

NTMIC Sperm Lab offers two options for sample collection. Both are discreet and respectful.

You may obtain your sperm sample at home. It must be kept between body and room temperature, and delivered to our laboratory in a clean plastic cup with screw-on lid, within one hour. An appointment is required to drop it off during our regular hours.

Or, you may provide a sample in the privacy of a semen collection room at our facility. Appropriate visual aids are available, and the room has a locking door.

Prompt assessment

Our highly-trained laboratory technicians immediately begin to analyze the sample based on four major assessment parameters:

• Volume of ejaculation measured in milliliters.


• Sperm count (density) measured in millions per milliliter of volume.


• Percent of sperm that are rapid swimmers (called “motility”).


• Percent of sperm that have perfect shape, both head and tail (“strict normal morphology score”).

While most laboratories provide a reasonably accurate measure of volume and density, their analysis commonly fails on the vital factors of motility and morphology. These measures directly correlate to the sperm’s ability to get to the egg, and to penetrate the egg on arrival.
